The New Zealand Nationals is the one opportunity of the year for all pilots from around the country to gather, to socialise, to have an enjoyable time and of course to fly.

The New Zealand 2026 Paragliding Nationals will consist of 2 simultaneous events; the NZ Open (this will be a category 2 event) and the NZ Fun Competition (an event for pilots new to competition who want a less challenging environment to gain experience and be in the sky with the best).

It will be held in the Nelson region over 7 task days from Saturday 31st January until Friday 6th February 2026 with a recommended arrival on Friday 30th January. Headquarters are at McCashins Brewery, 660 Main Road Stoke, Nelson 7001.

General Schedule: Friday 30. January 2026 Practice day and Registration from 4-8pm at Headquarters McCashins Brewery and again on Saturday 31. January 7.30-8.30am.  

31.January- 6. February Competition days. 6. February Final Competition day. Evening prize giving.
