Volandoo provides a comprehensive public view for events, making it easy for potential participants to access all the information they need. Our platform supports a customizable header image, logo display, and unlimited content using a user-friendly WYSIWYG editor, ensuring your event details are clear, engaging, and visually appealing.

Inscriptions and CIVL Integration

With Volandoo, you have two options: import an event directly from CIVL (contact us), or create one within the platform. Our platform features a versatile form builder for managing inscriptions, giving organizers the ability to easily approve, deny, or remove participants. Additionally, organizers can download participant lists in CSV or Excel formats.

Downloadable Files

Pilots can preview select files, such as PDFs, WPT, and XCTask formats, before downloading them. This feature ensures quick and convenient access to the information they need.

Points of Interest Map

Volandoo's extensive database features thousands of launch sites and associated flight tracks, offering pilots a comprehensive resource for exploring key flying locations. This section allows users to discover relevant flying sites and review existing tracks to better understand the area's flight activity. Additionally, you can customize the map by adding pins for important landmarks such as headquarters, campsites, and more.

Task Planner and Task Importer

Easily manage tasks with our platform-whether by uploading pre-created tasks in the xctsk format or building them directly within our system. Our task planner eliminates the need for additional tools or mobile apps, simplifying the process. Simply upload your waypoints file to the "Files" section and launch the task planner in the "Tasks" section to get started.

Once a task is uploaded or created, you'll have everything you need at your fingertips. Download the task file, share it with pilots via a QR code, and access essential details such as waypoint lists, radii, task times, and more. Making task creation easier has never been this effective!

Real Live Tracking

Volandoo stands out by offering genuine real-time tracking for pilots, unmatched by any other live tracking platform in the sport. Event organizers benefit from a dynamic map that updates instantly, providing the most accurate and up-to-date information at all times. By default, the public map also features live updates, but organizers can choose to implement a delay of 2, 4, or 6 minutes. This optional delay is particularly valuable, helping to prevent competing pilots from closely following the leaders and gaining an unfair advantage.

Multiple Categories

Volandoo Events stands out as the only platform that lets you add multiple categories to a single event on the same map. This feature is particularly valuable in hang gliding, where several tasks often occur simultaneously at the same location. For instance, wings from different categories like Class 1, Class 5, and Sport Class may compete at the same time and place but follow different tasks. With Volandoo Events, you can view all these categories on one map and even filter by category for a clearer, more organized experience.

Task Replay Options

With Task Replay Options, users can relive the excitement of a race or competition at their convenience. This feature allows pilots, organizers, and spectators to review the flight paths of all participants in detail. By offering playback controls, such as pause, and speed adjustment, Task Replay provides an invaluable tool for analysis and learning. Event organizers can use this feature to debrief participants, highlight strategic decisions, or review critical moments of the competition. This enhanced functionality ensures that every aspect of the race can be thoroughly explored, adding significant value to training and event reviews.

Live Ranking and Live Scoring

Live Ranking allows you to see who's leading the race in real-time. It provides a list of all pilots, ordered by their distance to goal and, once they reach the goal, the time they entered the ESS. However, Live Ranking serves as an unofficial score.

CIVL Scoring with SVL

Live Scoring, on the other hand, offers both a live ranking and an official score. We'll be using the SVL (Scoring de Vole Libre) system developed by David Dimov, which is CIVL compatible. This system comes with an additional cost, with all proceeds directly supporting the tool's creator. With Live Scoring, you'll get an updated ranking throughout the day and an official cumulative score across all competition days. These result can then be uploaded to CIVL.

Voolαris Tracker

Introducing the Voolαris Tracker, built by Alfapilot Instruments, the latest innovation on our platform, designed specifically for competitions. This in-house solution is built to address the reliability issues often encountered with mobile apps during events. Unlike mobile apps-prone to being shut down by the operating system, forgotten by pilots, or hindered by low battery-the Voolαris Tracker offers a dependable and smooth experience.

With a battery life that lasts an entire week-long competition, the Voolαris Tracker provides continuous performance. It transmits GPS coordinates to the server every second and cleverly enters sleep mode once the pilot lands, automatically waking up the next day to start again. Equipped with three buttons, including an SOS function that alerts the organizer immediately, it also features sound notifications via a built-in buzzer for added convenience and safety.

Using 4G technology, the tracker ensures exceptional coverage, leveraging the same network capabilities as mobile phones rather than relying on seconday mobile networks such as LTE-M or NB-IoT. Additionally, it's compatible with satellite networks like Starlink and Skylo, further enhancing its reliability.

Retrieve System

Volandoo Events offers a retrieve system, currently in beta and free to use until the beta phase concludes. This system simplifies the retrieval process, making it faster and more efficient. Drivers can download the Volandoo Retrieve app-available now for Android and coming soon for iOS-to receive notifications about their next pickup.

The app is designed for simplicity and ease of use. It provides drivers with a list of assigned pilots and their current status, such as "waiting for pickup," "picked up," or "dropped off." Once a driver selects a pilot, the app conveniently redirects them to Google Maps for navigation. This eliminates the hassle of relying on WhatsApp messages and manual Google Maps searches.

Event organizers have access to a live tracking map, allowing them to monitor pilots as they land and confirm safe or unsafe landings. If a pilot requires assistance, the organizer assigns the nearest available driver based on road distance and current capacity, ensuring a smooth pickup process.

With Volandoo's retrieve system, both pilots and drivers experience a more organized, user-friendly retrieval process.

Hike & Fly

Volandoo stands out with its unique Hike & Fly feature, integrating ground and air tracking for pilots. While on foot, the track is displayed as a dashed line, and once airborne, it transitions to a solid line. This innovative system allows Volandoo to host Hike & Fly events like no other platform.
