The long-distance flying season in Brazil has taken off with full force! September already brought strong winds to the skies of the Sertão, creating ideal conditions for those chasing distance and speed. But it’s not for the faint of heart: with gusts over 30 km/h, launching demands courage, skill, and perfect timing. Those who get it right fly far — and fast!
🌬️ Between late September and early October 2025, Brazil’s current record holder proved he’s in top form: 480 km covered after launching from the legendary Tacima-PB ramp. This same site holds another historic feat — the second longest hang glider flight in the world, an astonishing 613 km, also flown by Glauco Pinto. The 2025 season is just beginning, and the skies are already telling epic stories.
🪂 Today, October 5th, 2025, four pilots launched from Tacima-PB and reached between 60 and 70 km. For many, it was their first flight in a while. But when the day looks promising, no one stays grounded — the Sertão calls, and everyone hits full throttle! It’s the passion for flight that unites this crew, where every kilometer is a victory.
May good winds and great flights come our way!
