Rediscovering the joy of flying!

After two years grounded since my last flight—due to family matters, the birth of my first child, and other personal goals—I finally took to the skies again, launching from the very ramp where I had my first flight. It was magical. Over two hours of lift, exploring every detail of my new wing, which I had the pleasure of flying for the first time. Everything went great.

A few lessons stood out. First: I urgently need a proper mount for my flight instruments—every single one shut off mid-flight, haha. Second: I need to relearn how to land and make better landing decisions! One small mistake during landing was not managing the final speed properly, which left the wing a bit “soft” (low energy) at the end. Still, I landed safely and smoothly. Another day of learning and reflection—practice and improve!

Another minor slip-up was choosing a landing area full of annoying little plants known in the Sertão as “carrapicho”—a pesky weed covered in tiny thorns that stick to your clothes and make you want to throw them away, lol...

Nearly 12 hours of the day dedicated to flying, 2 hours in the air, and a huge smile on my face! As my wise instructor used to say: “It’s a sport for the slightly crazy!”

Here’s to more great moments ahead!
